All content and any preferred images are provided by you, the client. Stock photography can be chosen by Small Business Web Pro in the case that more images are needed.

Step 1: Questionnaire

First, you’ll receive a design preferences questionnaire to help get a preliminary idea of your styles and preferences. Based on these responses, we will further discuss your website needs, goals, and wants to ensure that we understand your brand and what you’re looking for.

Step 2: Contract & Payment

After you’ve answered the questionnaire and we’ve come to a place where we both feel comfortable moving forward, you’ll sign a contract and issue the agreed-upon down payment. During this phase you will also need to provide your logo, brand guidelines, images, and content* for your site. Once these items are received along with the signed contract and payment, the design phase can begin.

Step 3: Website Design

Now, the design of a website you will love can begin! Based on the questionnaire and other communications with you, a mockup will be put together for the home page and one interior page for your business to preview. The Custom Website package comes with 3 rounds of design edits.

*If your content is not quite ready, I can get going without it and can just use placeholder text in the meantime.



Step 4: Website Build

After the design is approved, the website can start being developed online. This includes assistance with setting up your web hosting environment if needed. Depending on how extensive the site design is, this step could take up to 2.5 weeks. Once finished, your team will receive a link to review.

Step 5: Website Review

The Custom Website package includes 3 rounds of web edits. Once a round of edits has been completed, you will have a chance to review again to make sure you are happy with the changes. Once all changes have been made and approved, final payment will be due (if not on a payment plan) before the site can be published.



Step 6: Website Goes Live

Once review, approval and payment are complete, the Google Analytics code will be installed on the site and it will be ready to go live and be indexed by Google. You will receive the site user guide and be on your way! Please reach out with any future questions or for help with updates or maintenance (may be an additional charge).

Web Hosting, Domain, & Email Setup

A domain (URL) is needed for customers to access your website. Web hosting is needed to store the website assets (code, images, content, pages) online. An SSL certificate is needed to remove the “this site is not secure” warning that will appear on your website if you don’t have one. You will need to purchase everything separately* so you maintain ownership of your account. Then Small Business Web Pro will need access to your hosting account so the website and hosting environment can be set up for you.

Company emails are usually included with the domain purchase and an email client (like Office or Gmail) can be attached to it so you and your employees can access your emails.

*If you want Small Business Web Pro to take care of all of this and create an account for you, you will be billed upfront before any purchases can be made on your behalf.
